Club Visit to King Edward Mine - Report 25 August

Summer time is a time for relaxation, for holidays away from work and often a time to catch up with family and friends. The good weather means opportunities to get out the cameras and take images in a whole range of light conditions as the daylight hours are extended with good photographic conditions often available at both ends of the day/ It is also a time when camera clubs are “resting” with no evening meetings. At Penryn Camera Club we like to try to use this time to have a variety of other events including trips out. Recently the club has held its annual exhibition and members had a Sunday lunch at CJs in Budock Water. Perhaps however the most interesting event for this summer was the recent trip to the King Edward Mine Museum. The visit was arranged by one of our members Keith Russ who was ably assisted on the day by two volunteers. The visit was very informative and produced lots of photographic opportunities with exhibits of hard rock mining with both static and working machinery.
