Enthusiastic and eager to learn from my Penryn Camera Club friends.

Karen Burton

Last year I took the plunge and bought a Nikon D750. I have never owned a full frame camera before, so it has been a huge learning curve to start to learn to use the camera manually. I only ever had an Olympus and Sony compact cameras which I just happily snapped away on.

I am now studying Level 2 photography at Falmouth Adult Education Centre which I am really enjoying. I just wish I had started this course years ago! I love learning new topics such as the history of photography, still life, lighting and creative photography. It is great discovering new photographers to research and take inspiration from their images and style.

I hope to be able to improve my photography and find my own style. I love seascapes mainly and want to learn macro to get sharp images.I just love the blues and sea it is so mesmerising. I know I have a lot to learn, but I am loving the challenge!

Penryn Camera Club has been so important to me since I joined two years ago. I have made so many new friends and learned so much from the members. I am truly grateful for the support I have received from everybody. I am so proud to be part of such a great club.
