Friday 3rd March 2023

The promised photographic battle with the St Ives Camera Club happened last night. Both clubs submitted some excellent images, both print and digital. Margaret Hocking awarded top points (20) to several of these images. This shows how high the standards are. Judging the prints took an hour then we enjoyed a selection of home-cooked goodies provided by Penryn Camera Club members before we resumed with another hour of judging and critiquing the digital images.

Congratulations to St Ives, the overall winners. We are glad you enjoyed the evening and hope for a return match next year.

Next week we are looking forward to guest speaker Nick Tonkin who will be giving a talk on AstroPhotography. There is interest in this genre within the club so we will listen keenly to Nick’s words. It is the start of the Milky Way season (March 18th-25th are the next clear nights, unfortunately between 03:14 and 04:22!) so the talk is well-timed.

You are welcome to join us (Thursdays, 19:30, The Penryn Athletic Football Club). You can contact us via our website www.penryncameraclub.co.uk
