Several members of the Penryn Camera Club were unwell but such was the anticipation for the Creative Photoshop talk by Kevin Leah we had to run a hastily assembled hybrid meeting, partly on-site, and partly via zoom.

Kevin didn’t disappoint, starting the evening with a series of worked examples each showing one of several of Photoshop’s features. He used examples where a judge would complain and showed how to correct the image to avoid those comments.

After the tea break, Kevin switched gears and showed us many images offering ideas for future competitions. Black and White, six-inch photography, leading lines, scantly clad, toning and cropping all featured with several before and after examples.

Next week Colin Higgs will judge our first two competitions of the year. Colin always adds value to judging with insightful comments so it’s another evening to look forward to.

You are welcome to join us (Thursdays, 19:30, The Penryn Athletic Football Club). We have an exceptional social club, and enjoy repartee, laughter and the occasional photograph. You can contact us by email at, or our Facebook page is active;
