Editor - Derek Godridge and contributions from Wendy, Karen and the team:

PCC News – Last night our first “Battle” of the season against Truro and Falmouth went off very well and we were a well placed third from the judge Barbara. One positive was that we won the raffle !

There were some really good images from all three clubs, but Truro’s really were pretty stunning and they certainly deserved the win. Very well done to Paul Cooper who had a full marks 15 pointer so more creative shots for next time please !

Now a message from our Vice Pres. Wendy Bate:

“Hi all,

I would just like to say a huge thank you to you all for making tonight’s 3-way battle evening such a success. (Even if we were 3rd). The reputation which Penryn CC has held for many years is how friendly and hospitable the club is, and tonight, we certainly kept our reputation intact. You were all brilliant.

Thank you to all those who turned up at 6-30 to help get the room ready for the start of the evening and then staying behind to help clear up and put everything away. Thank you to Geoffrey for making up the stands for the prints; didn’t they look good when they were displayed? Great job Geoffrey. Also, many thanks for the tea coffee and biscuits and I was told, the saffron cake too.

Thank you Sandi for your help too, with refreshments and for helping out where ever you were needed. Thanks to Paul for running the PC and technical side of things. Thanks to Karen and Carol for making so much money on the raffle, also Karen for all the extra jobs you did around the place too.

There were so many of you helping, Julia set up the food table, I am afraid to name you all, in case I leave anyone out and I wouldn’t like to do that, you were ALL amazing. My thanks to Julia for helping me with the food shop yesterday and for helping out tonight. Thanks to Claire for bringing Barbara, our judge, to the club tonight.

My special thanks to Derek, who helped me out no end, including keeping scores and giving his personnel touch in making everyone feel welcome at our club. Many thanks to those who supplied prizes for the raffle.

To sum up my above comments to you all, we all tucked in to the jobs we had to do, everything looked amazing and it’s thanks to you all, for all your help.

I know Penryn CC is a great club and it’s made so by the wonderful Members we have, I feel so proud of you all, not only with the way your photography is progressing but the way you are there when help is needed. It’s great teamwork from everyone and I really appreciate how willing you all are to help out when asked, so HUGE appreciation to everyone, thank you.

Wendy. Xx”
