Placing a Stroke Around Your Image

Last night Judge Richard reminded us that (especially when you have a dark image) it always displays better with a “Stroke” around the outside so here are the steps needed to do that.

1) Size the image then go “Select All” and you see the marching ants around the outside of the image

Size the image then go “Select All”

2) Select the Stroke option from the toolbar

Select the Stroke option

3) Change the “Width” to the size stroke you require – 5 is a good starting point but less is sometimes better, you can always change it before you “save” the image

Change the “Width”

4) From the colour picker box select the colour you want by clicking in the “colour” box( white recommended) and ensure the “centre” option is selected (NOT “outside”).

select the colour you want

5) “OK” the select boxes, deselect the selection, review the result and use “save as” to save the edited image by possibly adding a suffix to your image name. e.g. “DSC_1234 stroke

use “save as” to save

Hope this helps to improve the way your darker images are displayed!
