PCC News – Paul Cooper
Last Thursday, 21 PCC members trekked across Cornwall to Portreath to capture a sunset. Saraha dust – tick: Fluffy clouds – tick: Vapour trails – tick: Surfers for foreground interest – tick: Fantastic scenery - we are in Cornwall so no surprise at the tick here.
Lovely red photogenic skies - Meh! What happened?? Lenses of all shapes and sizes, mobile phones and iPads all pointed West and it just became dark, no colourful sunset whatsoever! Come on North Coast, could do better!
Not to worry, we had congregated at The Atlantic Cafe (as we did last year, also receiving a poor sunset). While the chef probably had kittens at 21 concurrent fish and chip orders, after a reasonable wait, filled with laughter and chatter, massive slabs of well-cooked F & C arrived. Two cheerful waitresses flitted about ensuring drinks and condiments were available. Folk remarked on how good the food was and it set us up well for the non-sunset to come.
Don’t forget next week we will be heading to Truro, on Saturday, for the Cornwall Photographic Alliance annual competition. We have 30 entries supplied by 15 members so wish us well.
As they say in all the TV Quiz Shows

WCPF – Members Exhibition – Still on !
I personally saw John Yarrow’s images in this illustrious company (Including his “Selector’s Award”) and so I feel no guilt about keeping this link in the Newsletter. For those of you who can actually go to see the Prints and DPI images, the details are in the WCPF section below. I would highly recommend a trip as it does give you the opportunity to view International standard photography which we rarely see in our part of the country.

Other - Penryn Arts Centre (Methodist Church) –Karen Burton
We have been invited into the Penryn Methodist Church that is now called the Penryn Arts Centre on May 16th from 18.30 till 19.30.
I am trying to get us connected with the Arts Centre so we can hopefully use it for photoshoots and be involved more with our local community.
We can park in small car park in Saracen Way, failing that I will ask if we can use the Doctor's Surgery car park for that evening. Car Park uses Just Park App and takes real money.
We can also wander and get some Penryn images to start a bit of a project. Let me know if you are interested in coming. Karen NB I haven't booked anywhere for drinks after as yet.
