NL175 – Friday 20th October 2023

Editor - Derek Godridge with Amanda Hanson, Karen Burton and the team: PCC News:

  • What a great night we had last night with the Results for President’s Cup and Ken Maynard Shield competitions judged by Barbara Jenkin - ARPS EFIAP/d3 GMPSA/p SPSA.

  • There were welcome surprises for some along with disappointments for others, but that’s what competitions are all about! It was also encouraging to see some of our newer members doing so well – the rest of us now have to step up to the challenge!

  • In all, it was felt that Barbara did a great job and was very kind and helpful in her comments, so we look forward to seeing her again.

  • Just a few pointers from last night: o Judges like “different” as they do get jaded seeing the same old, same old! o If the competition is a set competition, make sure you comply. o Don’t enter two similar images in separate categories as only ONE will make it! o There are always fewer prints hence you stand a better chance of getting placed! o Points mean prizes, so the more you enter the better the chances!

  • Next Week - October 26th is the hand-in date for our Ken Farnell KF1 Competition and is a Themed subject which purposely aligns with the Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF) Knightshaye’s Trophy with the subject this year being “Water”.

  • Reminder – Your Entries for the “Lucky Dip” FUN competition are due to be handed in shortly on 9th November so get them ready folks!

  • Our Full Progamme is here: https://www.penryncameraclub.co.uk/progamme Don’t forget you can click on any of the Calendar Dates to find more Live information. Finally for now – All the information you need for competitions should be either on our PCC Website AND/OR on the USB Pen / Thumb drive you should have. This includes the various categories of competitions throughout the season in set Folders, Hand-In sheets to print out and use as a reference when copying your entries to Amanda’s Entry Sheets on Hand-In nights, Competition Rules, electronic PCC Competition Programme. If you DON’T have a USB drive please ASK Raymond Bate ASAP.
