This week we had our second Penryn Camera Club Freedom (not locked-down) competition. A remarkable photograph of a young coot by Philip Laws was declared the winner. Philip, who lives outside of Cornwall and is unable to attend our meetings, is a productive satellite member of the club and frequently performs admirably at our events.

We held our yearly presentation evening at the Falmouth Golf Club, which included a delicious three-course supper. We awarded certificates and silverware to our members for their efforts in 2021/22. This is the result of numerous competitions, and it gives Mandy Hanson, our competition secretary, and Victor annual headaches. They performed commendably as always, finding new owners for all the cups and shields for the following year.

Our next planned event is Paradise Park, Hayle but several members hope to capture some great images at the Baloon Festival in Stithians on Saturday the 2nd.

Our season begins on Thursday, September 1st, so if you'd like to join us, you're welcome. Email penryncc@gmail.com until we fix our website.

We're still working on getting our domain name restored - it's taking a while, but we're getting there. Meanwhile, our Facebook page is active; Facebook.com/PenrynCC
