The Penryn Camera Club trekked to Pool to visit the NT East Pool Mine. Our really informative guide, Sue, entertained us with stories and facts as we worked around the site. Naturally, cameras were in good use, and folk drifted here and there photographing interesting things. Sue was overheard saying to a colleague; It’s like herding friendly cats!! So I guess we enjoyed it far more than Sue did.

The brickwork is stunning, and you are left wondering how they cast and installed some of the massive beams and counterweights. Well worth a visit.

Our next formal meet-up is a cream tea at Purdy’s on Sunday, but you will probably find members throughout Falmouth week, the Pink wig event, Hartlands Geekfest or the Falmouth Carnival - and that’s only next week! Look for our club badge on our camera straps - stop us for a chat about our fabulous club.

If you'd like to join us, you would be welcome. You can contact us by email at penryncc@gmail.com until we fix our website. We're still working on restoring our domain name (coming soon, they still promise), Meanwhile, our Facebook page is active; Facebook.com/PenrynCC
