As a reward for passing O’levels my father bought me a Kodak Sterling II camera with its large negatives (8 on 620 film) before I progressed to 35mm, initially a Voigtlander borrowed from my brother-in-law. With a journey that included a Yashicamat (24 on 220 film), I finally progressed to 35mm Minolta SLR cameras with an extensive range of quality MD lenses. With the introduction of autofocus lenses, I moved on to 35mm Minolta Dynax cameras, using their A mount lenses with a Sony Alpha700 when life turned digital, possible as Sony had bought out Minolta. Finally, when cameras went mirrorless, I invested in a Sony Alpha 5000, my main work horse today. This meant using E mount lenses, newcomers to my ever expanding collection.
