B&W Out of camera

While specific instructions may vary slightly depending on the model and software version, the committee have provided you with general steps for capturing black and white images on four top-brand digital cameras and two top-brand mobile phones.


Digital Cameras:


1. Canon EOS R5:

  1. Turn on the camera.

  2. Navigate to the shooting mode or menu.

  3. Look for the "Picture Style" or "Creative Style" setting.

  4. Choose the "Monochrome" or "Black and White" option.

  5. Adjust other settings like contrast and sharpness if needed.

  6. Press the shutter button to take black and white photos.


2. Nikon Z7:

  1. Power on the camera.

  2. Access the shooting menu.

  3. Find the "Picture Control" or "Picture Style" option.

  4. Select "Monochrome" or "Black and White."

  5. Customize additional settings like contrast and filter effects.

  6. Capture your black and white images by pressing the shutter button.


3. Sony A7 III:

  1. Turn on the camera.

  2. Navigate to the "Creative Style" or "Picture Profile" menu.

  3. Choose the "Black & White" option.

  4. Adjust settings like contrast and sharpness to your preference.

  5. Take black and white photos by pressing the shutter button.


4. Fujifilm X-T4:

  1. Power on the camera.

  2. Access the "Film Simulation" menu.

  3. Select the "Monochrome" or "Acros" film simulation.

  4. Customize settings like grain and highlight tones if desired.

  5. Capture black and white images using the shutter button.


Mobile Phones:


1. iPhone (iOS):

  1. Open the Camera app.

  2. Swipe to the "Photo" mode.

  3. Tap on the three overlapping circles icon (top of the screen).

  4. Choose the "Mono" or "Noir" filter.

  5. Capture black and white photos by pressing the shutter button.


2. Samsung Galaxy (One UI):

  1. Open the Camera app.

  2. Swipe to the "Photo" mode.

  3. Look for "Filters" or "Picture Modes."

  4. Select the "Greyscale" or "Mono" option.

  5. Capture your black and white images by pressing the shutter button.
