Penryn Camera Club’s annual dinner and presentations were a roaring success. After enjoying a three-course meal at the stunning Falmouth Golf Club, we settled back to enjoy the winners of hard-fought competitions receiving their awards. Although many members received something, the runaway success belonged to Derek Godridge LRPS AFIAP. He swept the board, winning throughout the evening, including the prestigious Dennis Watson trophy for most points accrued throughout the year. Well done Derek.
After weeks of secrecy, the club honoured Samantha Miller with two prestigious awards from the Cornwall Photographic Alliance. This is the governing body for most camera clubs in Cornwall. Samantha received the Geoff Marshall Award for Best Digital Image from all ten clubs that entered the competition. We let Samantha regain her seat and then called her up again to receive the Len Collings Trophy for the Overall Winning Image of the entire competition - something unachieved in our club 43-year history. Stunning work, Samantha. Congratulations.
