The third Covid lockdown has scuppered the Penryn Camera Club physical meetings so we are back to Zoom meetings. Our first this year was Thursday night, which was a “guess what” macro competition run by Derek Godridge. To cater for members who don't take macro photography he allowed ‘snippet’ cropping of larger images.
The evening was a total success, with lots of laughter and friendly banter, which the club is renowned for. To give an idea of the evening one image that snookered the group was a macro of a spider’s mouth eating a fly’s head.
One benefit of a Zoom meeting is the catering; as well as tea and coffee, I spotted soft drinks, wine, Baileys and either Rum or Whiskey. 90 minutes flashed by and as most of us are isolating it was great to see and hear friends having fun. This included banning our Chairman Victor from answering as he became infallible at spotting the answer. He still won the evening.
Next week we have external judging of our first formal competition this year, The Ken Farnell KF1. If you would like to join us and enter our competitions, start via https://www.penryncameraclub.org.uk and look for the Contact Us form on the top menu bar. Alternatively, Google; Penryn Camera Club.

It's a sea shell, of course :-)
