Friday 2nd December 2022

We were delighted to welcome old friends and many new ones to our three-way competition between Truro, Falmouth, and Penryn camera clubs after an extended break due to Covid restrictions. As everyone settled in, our venue was buzzing with chatter. We had provided enough seats! Phew!

Barbara Jenkins judged, the 30 prints and 30 digital images each receiving up to 15 points. All three clubs received high scores and positive, helpful comments. It was especially interesting to see the different styles of the clubs. During the break we were able to talk to skilled photographers exploring different genres which added to the evening.

Well done to Truro, the winner of this competition. The scores were:

Truro Falmouth Penryn

Prints 131 119 116

Digital 135 128 116

Total 266 247 232

Next week we'll be marking our lucky dip (or unlucky dip depending on the subject we received!!) competition entries. Members try to stay objective and mark their decisions according to technical merit, not personal choice. Always a fun evening (there is sure to be banter) and the chance to win some chocolate!

You are welcome to join us (Thursdays, 19:30, The Penryn Athletic Football Club). You can contact us via our now working website penryncameraclub.co.uk.
