Newsletter NL155 – 10th March 2023

Editor - Derek Godridge and the team: PCC News:

Last night’s show with Nick Tonkin was a very detailed look at the equipment and methodology needed for Astro Photography. It was quite remarkable to learn that it was now possible to achieve similar types of images with a £5k set up as the Hubble Telescope at £xx Billion !!

It was even more enlightening to discover that the advances in software and kit mean that Astro Photographers can actually be in bed whilst the working tracking camera is housed in a shed with a sliding roof!

Nick showed us photos of the working kit below:

He also went into a lot of detail on the causes of noise and how it is reduced using some pretty complex in camera and software filters along with even more automated wizardry!
