PCC News: Kingswood Salver At this week’s meeting, yours truly took the opportunity to explain the background to our Kingswood Salver entry which was judged this last Saturday and was given a “Commended” award. The “Themed Panel” concept of the Salver was explained along with the journey that we took as a club selection team ably led by Paul Cooper. Also how the six subject options came about and how we whittled that down to a 2 subject shortlist with a final selection and why we settled on the “Cornish Engine Houses through the Seasons”.

On behalf of the Club, I attended the event in Bovey Tracey being judged by Leo Rich and saw the judging and listened to his remarks regarding all of the 16 panels. There was a tremendous variety of work and in terms of how they worked and ours certainly stood on its own merits and truly deserved the “Commended” award. A big “Thank You” to all members who entered images for the various subjects and congratulations to the Club for winning this accolade – the first time in our history.

The Girls In Portugal Last night’s “Show and Tell” with Claire Dougal, Jane Goldsworthy and Sue Bunt worked out really well and after explaining the running of the Photography Workshop we were shown various images from the Faro area of Portugal. A nice mix of Travel images and Information.
