Editor - Derek Godridge with Wendy Bate, Paul Cooper, Karen Burton and the team:

PCC News:

What a shame we had to cancel this week’s meeting due to the extremely bad weather! Hopefully, we will be able to re-schedule Jeanette’s illustrated talk on Costa Rica.

Obviously, cancelling meetings is never an easy decision to make but we are sure you all understand that many folk don’t fancy the risks involved when there is flooding and flying debris around. Luckily we had a super Inter-Club “Battle” with St Ives CC and hence the following report from the Chair.

REPORT and RESULTS from Monday evening at, St. Ives CC.

A good show of our Members, made the trip to St. Ives, for the Competition with St. Ives CC. There was a very warm welcome from their Club Members to us on arrival with many old friends meeting up with us again.

Bryan Crick, who sadly died earlier this year, was sorely missed by us, as he was a frequent visitor to our club as a Judge and even Presented our awards one year. He was a true Gentleman and true friend of PCC. Having judged our Presidents and Ken Maynard competition the week before at our club, Barbara Jenkin was also the Judge at St Ives CC. Barbara kept the scoring tight, and did a great job speaking about our images, with some fresh remarks.

Prints were shown first, OUR top scorers in this section were; 20 points Karen Burton “ Porthleven at Gunpoint”

19 points John Yarrow “Shifting Perspectives”

Paul Cooper “Greek Flag” Mark Quilter “Boscawen Heron” Now the rest of our Print scores. 18 pts. “Snowy Morning” and “ Ruby Fox”

17 pts “Godrevy Evening Light” and “Climate Emergency”

15pts “Blea Tarn” and “Langdale Pikes”

14pts ”Looking Back at us”

13 pts “Red Face”

12 pts “Beauty and the Beast” and “ Look Up “ A break for refreshments followed this section and what a lovely array of food was laid out for us by our hosts! Everyone mixed together for a good chat and a lot of laughter, such a lovely atmosphere. The raffle was drawn before we sat for the digital section, and Mark Quilter won the first one, followed by a few more of our members also winning prizes. Jokes were made over this and also, very kind remarks about the food we laid on for them when they came to us at the end of last season, they said that they had never seen so much food and how much they enjoyed it all. So “Well done everyone”.

The Digital Projected Images (DPI) Section followed after the refreshments;

20 points. “Flowering Time” and “Goldfinch” by Mark Quilter.

The Rest of the scores for DIGITAL. 18pts “Angelfish”, ” Netmaker” and “Decay and Growth”
